The single most important task of a project: setting realistic expectations. Unrealistic expectations based on inaccurate estimates are the single largest cause of software failure.Planning Your Website

Digital Bridge is able to work from the initial concept for an Internet presence, through the detailed planning and analysis phase, to development, launch and ongoing maintenance.  This requires a systematic approach, and considerable attention to detail.

All parties need to have a clear understanding of the objectives for the website, roles and responsibilities of the parties involved, and of the proposed project plan and milestones.

Digital Bridge recommends that the following structured approach be followed throughout the development of an online project:

Pre Production

Initial meeting(s) are held between the client and Digital Bridge to determine scope, objectives, site philosophy, and site structure.

Once the development scope is set, a quotation for the project is produced.  This quotation is either accepted, and work on the website commences, or the scope is refined to tailor the cost of the website to a lesser or greater budget.

Design

Once agreement to proceed has been reached, Digital Bridge designs the look and feel for the client website. If not already fixed as part of the scoping process, Digital Bridge produces a timeline outlining the project through to its “go live” date.

Whilst Digital Bridge is working on the designs, the client is working on finalising the content.

Once the design; (including all graphics, layout, colours, logos, navigation) has been approved, development begins.

Development

Upon approval of the design Digital Bridge commences the development of the website.

Testing and Delivery

Digital Bridge creates a beta server to enable you to view the completed website via the Internet.

Following beta testing and acceptance of the completed website, with final approval Digital Bridge moves the website to a live server making it available for public viewing.  Digital Bridge submits the live website address to search engines for registration.

Project Management

Regular meetings are held between Digital Bridge and the client when required, to ensure the project runs smoothly.
